“Crocus wings and Daffodil Dreams”
With Crocus Wings and Daffodil Dreams, I wanted to explore the deep, spiritual connection between pollinators and the flowers they bring to life. Bees are more than just workers—they are carriers of renewal, weaving the fabric of ecosystems with every tiny movement. In this piece, I’ve merged the queen bumblebee with the blooms she depends on, blurring the line between insect and flower, nature and dream.
I chose crocuses and daffodils because they mark the arrival of spring, offering both sustenance and symbolism—hope, new beginnings, and the delicate balance of life. Their colors, the cool purples and soft blues, and even a couple light orange crocuses against the bright yellows and whites of daffodils, create a dynamic contrast that reflects the harmony of the natural world. The bee, with its iridescent eyes and golden wings, becomes a living extension of these blossoms, embodying the dance of pollination and survival.
This piece is a meditation on the unseen magic in everyday nature. I want the viewer to feel a sense of wonder, to pause and recognize the quiet beauty in something as small yet essential as a bee in flight. Crocus Wings & Daffodil Dreams is not just about pollination—it’s about transformation, connection, and the fragile, beautiful rhythm of life.
